KUALA LUMPUR, March 29 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia Tigers are set for a rough ride as world number one Datuk Lee Chong Wei will not play in the semi-final match of the Axiata Cup at Britma Mall Sports Arena in Jakarta tomorrow.
National singles coach Tey Seu Bock said this was because Chong Wei was still undergoing treatment for his injured shoulder.
However, he said, the national singles ace would probably play the return leg at Cheras Badminton Stadium here on Sunday.
"We have decided that Chong Wei will not play in Jakarta as he was advised to undergo treatment for the injured shoulder for three to five weeks," he said when contacted here today.
The Malaysia Tigers are in for a rough ride against Indonesia Garuda at the semi-finals of the Axiata Cup, which offers USD 1 million in prize money, after being defeated by Indonesia's youngsters, Indonesia Rajawali, 1-2 at the last Group K encounter last Sunday.
