KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 (Bernama) -- Malaysia were held to a 2-2 draw by
Belarus in the third match of the women's hockey Olympics Qualifying
Round in Kakamigahara, Japan Sunday.
Malaysia had lost in the two previous matches against Aizerbaijan and Japan which placed the Malaysian women in fifth place out of six teams.
In the second half, Malaysia turned stronger with Siti Rahmah Othman scoring Malaysia's first goal in the 41st minute while the equaliser was contributed by Siti Noor Amarina Ruhani, in the 68th minute in the match.
Belarus had earlier led with two goals scored in the first half by Nadzeya Silitskaya in the 17th minute and Maryia Halinouskaya in the 27th.
Monday, Malaysia will face Chile, ranked 17th in the world, in their fourth match while on the following day, the Malaysian women will face Austria.
