Sembilan Schools Sports Council (MSSNS) Under-17 International
Invitation Cricket Challenge 2012 at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan King
George V here from Oct 1.
Negeri Sembilan Cricket Association vice-president Zakri Abdul Aziz said the teams comprised two from Pakistan, Sri Lanka (two), Hong Kong (one), India (one) and Malaysia (two).
He said Malaysia will be represented by Negeri Sembilan and Bukit Jalil Sports School.
"Apart from providing exposure to the local players, the tournament was also aimed at popularising cricket among the people in the country," he told Bernama here today.
Zakri, who is also MSSNS cricket technical chairman, said the seven-day tournament was the first to be organised by MSSNS. Besides a trophy, the champion will receive accompanying medal, certificate and cash of US1,000, while the first runner up will receive a medal, certificate and cash of USD500.
