SHAH ALAM: The FA of Malaysia’s (FAM) general secretary Datuk
Azzuddin Ahmad has refused to comment on rumours linking him to the
Asean Football Federation (AFF) general secretary post.
AFF president Sultan Ahmad Shah is expected to name Azzuddin for the post as the current AFF general secretary Datuk Sri Paul Mony Samuel’s term has ended and he is unlikely to extend his tenure because of health reasons.
“I know that the post is vacant and my name has been linked to it but it won’t be fair for me to comment,” said Azzuddin yesterday.
“However, if the Tuanku wants me there, I don’t have a choice but to oblige.”
Azzuddin said the AFF president can pick the candidate for the general secretary post but it must get the approval of the AFF Council.
