FAM secretary-general Datuk Azzudin Ahmad, however, said the situation could change seeing the squad under Ong Kim Swee must make a thorough preparation to defend the gold medal at the Sea Games in Myanmar, next year.
For the record, Harimau Muda A squad defended the gold medal in football at the 26th SEA Games in 2011 after beating Indonesia 5-4 through penalty kicks after being tied 1-1 at the end of regulation time at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta.
According to Azzudin, the rumour that Harimau Muda A might join other leagues abroad was mere speculation because the FAM executive committee had not decided on the matter.
"We, nevertheless, plan to send them to train in Europe, in preparation for the SEA Games, next year," he told reporters after the 2013-2016 Malaysia League Seminar, here, Sunday.
