Harimau Muda Juara Piala Newspaper 2012

KUALA LUMPUR, 21 Okt (Bernama) -- Skuad Harimau Muda (bawah 21 tahun) muncul juara Piala Newspaper setelah menundukkan Vietnam Youth 1-0 pada perlawanan akhir di Pleiku, Vietnam Ahad malam.

Meskipun turun tanpa penyerang utama Syahrul Azwari Ibrahim dan A. Thamil Arasu yang mengalami kecederaan, Harimau Muda berjaya memecah benteng pertahanan lawan menerusi gol tunggal oleh Ahmad Hazwan Bakri pada minit ke-57.

Pasukan negara nyata mendapat tentangan sengit daripada Vietnam Youth yang bermain di hadapan 12,000 penyokong mereka.

Bagaimanapun, aksi cemerlang penjaga gol Mohd Izham Tarmizi dan pemain pertahanan D. Kenny Pallraj telah menggagalkan beberapa percubaan berbisa Vietnam khususnya menerusi penyerang mereka Tran Phi Son.

Setelah Malaysia menjaringkan gol pada babak kedua, pasukan Vietnam tampil lebih agresif sehingga mengakibatkan pemain negara Adam Nor Azlin cedera dan terpaksa dirawat di luar padang.

Sikap penyokong Vietnam yang membaling botol ke arah pemain Harimau Muda turut mencemari perlawanan.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
