Zulfahmi's Australian Moto3 Campaign Dashed By Engine Trouble

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 28 (Bernama) -- It was a frustrating day for Malaysian Moto3 rider Muhammad Zulfahmi Khairuddin at the Australian Grand Prix held at the Phillip Island Circuit Sunday as he had to retire with just four more laps to go due to engine problems.

Fresh from his inspiring podium finish at the Malaysian GP last week, the Team AirAsia SIC Ajo rider, who placed fifth on the grid, had begun strongly and was leading the race for more than six laps.

However, as the race entered lap seven, Zulfahmi appeared to encounter problems with his bike and was overtaken by the frontrunners, led by German KTM rider Sandro Cortese.

The 21-year-old continued to drop further in the race position and by mid-way through the 23-lap race, he was at the tail end of the second group in 10th position.

He managed to improve his position to ninth after Maverick Vinales of the Blusens Avintia crashed out on lap 15th, but Zulfahmi eventually retired with four more laps to go.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
