Adiq buru misi peribadi

Genting Highlands: Pelumba Champions System Pro Cycling, Muhamad Adiq Husainie Othman (gambar) kini memburu misi peribadi dalam baki perlumbaan Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL).
Selepas lima peringkat bekerja keras membantu pasukan dengan menjadi pelumba domestik, kemenangan peringkat perlumbaan dan memungut mata di zon pecutan kini menjadi keutamaannya.

“Peringkat kelima (semalam) saya memang mencari kelebihan kepada pasukan berbaki lima peringkat lagi. Sasaran untuk mencari kejuaraan pasukan keseluruhan tidak berapa baik dan kini berada di pertengahan (tempat ke-11).
“Jadi bermula esok (hari ini) kami mungkin mengubah sasaran dengan cuba melakukan pemecahan dan cuba memenangi mana-mana peringkat perlumbaan.

“Mungkin saya akan turut memburu mata di zon pecutan. Namun terpulang kepada perancangan pasukan,” katanya yang beraksi buat tahun kedua bersama CSC.

Harapan CSC untuk meraih kejuaraan berpasukan tampak tidak kesampaian selepas berakhirnya cabaran di Genting Highlands semalam apabila ketinggalan 24 minit 29 saat berbanding pendahulu, MTN Qhubeka yang mencatatkan 53 jam 18 minit 32 saat.
“Saya sepatutnya menjadi pelumba ketiga pasukan namun pelumba kedua gagal memainkan peranannya ketika perlumbaan berbaki lima kilometer, “ katanya.

KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 (Bernama) -- Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek remains confident that the national Uber Cup squad can spring a surprise when Malaysia hosts the Thomas and Uber Cup finals at the Putra Stadium in Bukit Jalil from May 9-16.
