Pemain Bola Keranjang Kebangsaan Jacky Ng Meninggal Dunia Di China

KUALA LUMPUR, 29 Julai (Bernama) -- Pemain bola keranjang kebangsaan, Jacky Ng Kiat Kee meninggal dunia dipercayai akibat sakit jantung ketika menyertai satu kejohanan jemputan di China, semalam.

Ng berusia 25 tahun.

Setiausaha Agung Persatuan Bola Keranjang Kebangsaan (Maba) Chey Tat Woon, yang mengesahkan perkara itu, berkata mendiang dilaporkan pengsan ketika berada di bangku pemain simpanan pada kira-kira 4.30 petang waktu tempatan di Jinjiang (4.30 petang waktu Malaysia) sebelum disahkan meninggal dunia pada kira-kira 7 malam ketika mendapat rawatan di sebuah hospital di sana.

"Seorang kakitangan kita serta ibu bapa mendiang telah berada di China untuk menguruskan penghantaran balik mayat mendiang ke sini.

"Pemergian Jacky merupakan satu kehilangan buat warga bola keranjang kebangsaan kerana mendiang merupakan nadi penting kepada pasukan," katanya ketika dihubungi Bernama hari ini.

Chey berkata selepas kejohanan di China itu, skuad kebangsaan dijadual beraksi pada Kejohanan Bola Keranjang Asia Fiba di Manila, Filipina, bulan depan sebagai persiapan awal menghadapi temasya Sukan SEA di Myanmar, Disember ini.

Ng yang berketinggian 1.96m menyertai skuad kebangsaan tahun lepas selepas bakatnya dikesan pada Kejohanan Bola Keranjang Piala Agung selain turut mewakili kelab Sarawak Firehorse dalam Kejohanan Liga Bola Keranjang Kebangsaan (MNBL).
