LANGKAWI, Aug 28 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian yachting squad has
participated in joint training with foreign teams as part of its
preparation for the SEA Games in Myanmar at the end of this year.
Malaysian Yachting Association (MYA) vice-president Datuk Mansor Ismail said the joint training had been held from Aug 18 and the foreign teams were from Kuwait, Taiwan and several Arab countries.
"The training was held at the national yachting complex here. It is capable of boosting the skills of the national sailors in preparing for the SEA Games this year," he told Bernama today.
He said more than 100 sailors, 42 of them from abroad, took part in the joint training.
Malaysia would pick 20 sailors to continue with centralised training, he said, adding that the target was to win five medals at the games.
