Impian Malaysia Ke Separuh Akhir Berkecai, Tewas 0-2 Kepada India

KUALA LUMPUR, 24 Sept (Bernama) -- Impian Malaysia untuk layak ke separuh akhir Kejohanan Piala Asia Wanita 2013 berkecai selepas tewas kepada India 0-2 pada saingan kumpulan A di Stadium Hoki Nasional, Bukit Jalil di sini Selasa.

Pada perlawanan malam ini, kedua-dua pasukan mempamerkan saingan sengit selepas terikat 0-0 pada separuh masa pertama.

Babak kedua perlawanan menyaksikan India meraih gol pertama menerusi gol padang yang dijaringkan Rani Poonam pada minit ke-38.

Lily Chanu Mayengbam memberikan kedudukan selesa kepada India dengan jaringan kedua menerusi gol penalti pada minit ke-45.

Jurulatih kebangsaan Mohd Nasihin Nubli Ibrahim berkata meskipun tewas beliau tetap berpuas hati dengan aksi pemain yang memberikan saingan sengit kepada pasukan ke-12 dunia, India pada perlawanan hari ini.

"Bagi saya kali ini adalah aksi terbaik oleh pasukan, India satu pasukan berpengalaman. Kami berikan tentangan yang baik.

"Kelemahan pasukan kita ialah kerana tiada penyudah, dan bahagian pertahanan yang tidak kemas. Saya berharap pasukan tidak patah semangat untuk beraksi dalam kedudukan penentuan kelima hingga lapan pada kejohanan ini," katanya kepada pemberita.

Dalam satu lagi saingan kumpulan A, China mudah menewaskan Hong Kong 7-0 manakala kumpulan B menyaksikan Jepun mengalahkan Kazakhstan 12-0.

Sementara itu dalam satu lagi saingan kumpulan B, Korea Selatan mencatat kemenangan besar dengan mengalahkan Taiwan 16-2.

Empat pasukan yang layak ke separuh akhir ialah China dan India dari kumpulan A dan Korea Selatan dan Jepun bagi kumpulan B.

Malaysia juga terlepas peluang untuk beraksi ke Piala Dunia di Hague, Belanda dari 31 Mei hingga 14 Jun tahun depan.

Setakat ini hanya China dan Korea Selatan layak ke Piala Dunia.

Pada perlawan separuh akhir Khamis ini, China akan menentang Jepun manakala Korea Selatan akan menentang India.

Bagi perlawanan penentuan kedudukan lima hingga lapan, Malaysia akan menentang Taiwan manakala Hong Kong akan bertemu Kazakhstan.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach. "After listening to the recording of the post-match press conference, we decided to drop the charge against Rajagopal as he did not make such a statement.
