ISN bukan klinik: Khairy



Kuala Lumpur: “ISN (Institut Sukan Negara) bukan klinik! Teguran itu disuarakan Menteri Belia dan Sukan Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar yang mahukan atlet menggunakan sepenuhnya kemudahan dan kepakaran sains sukan dimiliki ISN.

Beliau berkata, segelintir atlet hanya menganggap ISN klinik yang diperlukan ketika mengalami kecederaan dan bukannya pusat untuk meningkatkan tahap prestasi mereka.

“Saya tak mahu mereka menggunakan kepakaran sains sukan apabila cedera saja kerana ISN tidak boleh dipandang sebagai klinik sebaliknya ISN dijadikan pusat persiapan komprehensif dalam memantapkan fizikal dan mental.
“Ada dalam kalangan mereka hanya pergi ke ISN bila sakit atau mahu bersenam menggunakan gimnasium. Kebanyakan atlet lebih cenderung untuk berlatih dan beraksi tapi tidak mahu meluangkan masa menggunakan sains sukan, jadi kami perlu sentiasa mengingatkan mereka mengenai kepentingan bidang itu,” kata Khairy pada sidang media selepas merasmikan Kongres Persekutuan Perubatan Sukan Asia ke-13 (AFSM) semalam.

Turut hadir, Presiden AFSM Dr Mohamad Razi, Presiden Persatuan Perubatan Sukan Malaysia Prof Dr John George dan Ketua Pegawai Operasi ISN Datuk Dr Ramlan Abd Aziz.

Dalam ucapan perasmiannya, beliau menekannya kepentingan sains sukan dengan mengambil contoh bagaimana pemain badminton nombor satu dunia Datuk Lee Chong Wei mengambil masa hanya selama 65 hari untuk pulih daripada kecederaan teruk buku lali kanan bagi membolehkannya bersaing di Sukan Olimpik London tahun lalu.

Apa yang membanggakan, Chong Wei bukan hanya pulih dalam tempoh singkat untuk bertanding, malah mampu beraksi sehingga ke final sebelum tumpas kepada musuh ketat dari China, Lin Dan.

Govt Always Gives Emphasis To Sporting Culture, Says PM

KUALA TERENGGANU, May 29 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badaw i said the government always gives emphasis on cultivating a strong sporting culture in achieving excellence at the international level. Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
