KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- Malaysia still failed to break the
jinx against traditional rivals Thailand when they succumbed to a 0-3
defeat in the final of the Istaf Super Series in Bangkok Sunday.
Made up of Norshahruddin Mad Ghani (striker), Mohd Syazreenqamar Salehan (feeder) and Sahidan Md Ali (tekong), they lost 12-15, 2-15 and 8-15 to Thailand's Siriwat Sakha (tekong), Yupadee Pattarapong (feeder) and Pornchai Kaokaew (striker).
Earlier in the quarter-finals, Malaysia beat South Korea 3-2 while Thailand downed the United States 3-0.
Malaysia's women squad lost 2-3 to Vietnam for the third and fourth placing, according to the championship website, www.sepaktakraw.org.
Thailand also lifted the women's title in India last month when they beat South Korea 3-0 in the final.
The third round of the series will be held in Kota Kinabalu from Oct 31 to Nov 3.
