Malaysia Terus Cemerlang Selepas Tambah Koleksi Dua Pingat Emas


PALEMBANG, 25 Sept (Bernama) -- Kontinjen negara terus cemerlang pada hari ketiga Temasya Sukan Perpaduan Islam Ketiga apabila berjaya menambah dua pingat emas dan empat pingat gangsa di sini Rabu.

Malaysia terus mengekalkan kedudukan di tangga kelima carta kutipan pingat selepas mengumpul lima pingat emas, tiga pingat perak dan tujuh pingat gangsa.

Negara tuan rumah, Indonesia berjaya merampas kedudukan teratas daripada Mesir selepas mengumpul 10 pingat emas, lima perak dan 12 pingat gangsa.

Mesir menghuni tempat kedua dalam carta kutipan pingat dengan mengumpul sembilan pingat emas, 10 pingat perak dan sembilan pingat gangsa.

Turki terus mengekalkan kedudukan di tangga ketiga selepas meraih lapan pingat emas, tujuh perak dan 14 pingat gangsa.

Acara renang terus menjadi penyumbang besar kutipan pingat apabila dua pingat emas dan dua pingat gangsa negara hari ini dikutip dalam acara kolam renang menerusi Daniel Bego dalam acara 200 meter gaya bebas lelaki dan Khoo Chai Lin menerusi acara 400 meter rampaian individu wanita.

Dua pingat gangsa negara disumbangkan oleh Yap See Tuan daripada acara 50 meter kuak dada lelaki dan Kevin Yap Soon choy menerusi acara 200 meter gaya bebas lelaki.

Dua lagi pingat gangsa Malaysia dikutip daripada acara olahraga yang membuka tirai hari ini.

Karate gagal meneruskan rentak kemenangan apabila gagal meraih sebarang pingat menerusi acara kumite berpasukan lelaki dan kumite berpasukan wanita yang berakhir hari ini.

Pada Khamis, harapan pingat Malaysia tertumpu pada acara badminton, olahraga dan juga renang.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach. "After listening to the recording of the post-match press conference, we decided to drop the charge against Rajagopal as he did not make such a statement.
