KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 (Bernama) -- Suspended Football Association of
Malaysia (FAM) deputy president Tan Sri Annuar Musa says he was ready to
withdraw from the National Football Development Programme (NFDP)
committee, if the FAM refused to cooperate with the committee due to his
presence.
He said since the involvement of the organisation was more important than any individual, he was ready to withdraw from the committee to ensure a positive development in the country's football development.
"If the FAM does not want to cooperate because of my presence in the committee it is better I withdraw. What is important is that the minister must be supported by associations and those who have vested interest in the country's football development," he said after the NFDP committee meeting at the National Sports Council, here,Monday.
The FAM had earlier questioned the appointment of Annuar in the committee, since his suspension forbids his involvement in all football activities until his suspension was over.
Annuar, who is currently serving a 30-month ban imposed by the disciplinary committee for breaching Article 88 last April, was appointed by the Youth and Sports Minister as committee member recently.
"I was appointed by the minister as the Ketereh Member of Parliament and not as FAM deputy president or Kelantan Football Association advisor," he said.
