LTdL: Pasukan Benua KSPO Dari Korea Selatan Tarik Diri

KUALA LUMPUR, 19 Feb (Bernama) -- Pasukan benua KSPO dari Korea Selatan telah menarik diri daripada perlumbaan Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2014 selepas pelumbanya Youm Jung Hwan meninggal dunia akibat serangan jantung semasa latihan di Seoul, hari ini.

Ketua Pegawai Operasi LTdL, Emir Abdul Jalal berkata pasukan KSPO itu membuat keputusan itu sebagai tanda menghormati mendiang Jung Hwan.

Beliau berkata penyelaras pasukan tersebut Jae Yoo telah memaklumkan keputusan pasukan itu kepada sekretariat LTdL dan pihaknya tidak akan mendapatkan pasukan gantian.

LTdL 2014 akan bermula dari 27 Feb hingga 8 Mac sejauh 1,506.5km meliputi 10 peringkat yang bermula di Langkawi dan berakhir di Kuala Terengganu.

"Kami mengucapkan takziah kepada keluarga Jung Hwan dan pasukan KSPO. Ini adalah kehilangan besar untuk sukan berbasikal Asia dan juga kepada perlumbaan ini," kata Emir dalam kenyataan di sini.

"Sebagai tanda hormat, kita juga tidak akan menggantikan pasukan KSPO dengan pasukan lain dalam senarai simpanan. Kami akan memulakan perlumbaan dengan 21 pasukan berbanding 22 sebelum ini," katanya.

Jung Hwan, 29, kali terakhir beraksi dalam LTdL pada edisi 2012 ketika bersama Seoul Cycling Team dan menduduki tangga ke-24 keseluruhan.

Govt Always Gives Emphasis To Sporting Culture, Says PM

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed.
