Kuala Lumpur: “Alet itu bukan penagih dadah.”

Demikian tegas Menteri Belia dan Sukan Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar yang menafikan atlet dikaitkan positif ujian air kencing Sampel A pada Kejohanan Dunia 2014 di Copenhagen, Ogos lalu seorang penagih.

Jelas Khairy, persepsi itu sama sekali tidak benar kerana bahan yang diambil atlet berkenaan bukanlah dadah yang benar-benar terlarang.

“Dalam kes ini dia bukan penagih dadah, bukan hisap gam, bukan cucuk heroin dan juga bukan ambil (pil) ecstasy.

“Ia berkaitan dengan bahan dexamethasone,” katanya pada sidang media selepas mempengerusikan Mesyuarat Post Mortem Sukan Asia, semalam.

Dexamethasone sejenis steriod untuk rawatan perubatan dan kesan anti-radang yang biasanya digunakan dalam rawatan pemulihan atlet.

Sebelum ini, timbul laporan pemain utama negara Datuk Lee Chong Wei dikaitkan positif ujian air kencing itu.

Insiden itu didakwa berlaku ketika pemain berkenaan beraksi di Copenhagen, tetapi keputusan Sampel A diketahui selepas Sukan Asia berakhir.

Atlet itu bersama Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Institut Sukan Negara Datuk Dr Ramlan Abdul Aziz akan terbang ke Norway bagi melakukan ujian Sampel B pada 4 atau 5 November ini.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
