‘Nak jatuhkan saya’


Kuala Lumpur: “Saya percaya semua ini ada agenda untuk menjatuhkan saya.”
Demikian tegas Presiden Persatuan Angkat Berat Malaysia (PABM) Datuk Ong Poh Eng yang cukup yakin ada pihak cuba menjatuhkannya dengan mendakwa beliau terbabit dalam penyelewengan duit persatuan.

Menafikan segala tuduhan itu, Poh Eng sebaliknya memberi amaran kepada individu berkenaan supaya tidak bermain politik kerana beliau sememangnya ikhlas ingin membantu pihak persatuan selepas dilantik Presiden PABM yang baru, menggantikan Zafarul Akhbar Kassim penghujung 2012.
Poh Eng juga dapat menghidu individu yang ingin menjatuhkannya itu menggunakan taktik sama ketika menumbangkan Zafarul sebelum ini.

“Saya hanya mahu anda semua tahu, individu di belakang saya tidak bersikap baik. Saya perlukan kerjasama mereka, tapi realitinya sokongan itu tiada.

“Apa yang saya nampak, mereka juga menggunakan taktik sama menjatuhkan presiden sebelum ini.
“Saya baru dilantik dan banyak yang perlu dilakukan. Kalau mereka mahukan saya, berterus-terang atau buatlah keputusan pada AGM (Mesyuarat Agung Tahunan) akan datang,” katanya.

Berdasarkan laporan media sebelum ini, Poh Eng didakwa menggunakan wang persatuan yang diberikan Kementerian Belia dan Sukan (KBS) sebanyak RM30,000 untuk kepentingan peribadi.

Bagaimanapun Poh Eng menegaskan, duit itu untuk menggantikan wang miliknya yang dikeluarkan terlebih dulu bagi membayar denda dikenakan Persatuan Angkat Berat Antarabangsa (IWF) berikutan kegagalan atlet negara dalam ujian doping pada beberapa kejohanan antarabangsa.

Rajagobal Let Off The Hook

PETALING JAYA, April 24 (Bernama) -- National head coach Datuk K. Rajagobal was let off the hook by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) Disciplinary Committee after finding no evidence that he had violated FAM's Article 88, as claimed. FAM Disciplinary Committee chairman Datuk Taufik Abdul Razak said the committee had decided not to charge Rajagobal after carefully analysing the video of the post-match press conference by the 56-year-old coach.
