KUALA LUMPUR, May 26 (Bernama) -- Organisers are targetting 18,000 participants for this year's Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2010 compared with 15,000 participants last year. To date, about 13,000 have signed up for the June 27, event that offers a total prize purse of US$100,000 (RM341,000). "The route this year will not be a flat one but a mixture of undulating terrains. It will be an interesting course," said the marathon's director of operations Rainer Blemans who took the media for a tour of the route Wednesday. The marathon will wind through the city's most famous landmarks such as the old Kuala Lumpur Railway Station, National Museum, KL Sentral, Petronas Twin Towers, National Library, National Art Gallery, Istana Budaya, Putra World Trade Centre and the Jalan Duta Court Complex.
